How To Solve Sudoku Puzzles

New to Sudoku? We can get you up to speed.


Rules of Sudoku:
  1. You do not talk about Sudoku. (oops)
  2. You DO NOT talk about Sudoku (oops, oops).
  3. If someone says "stop", goes limp or taps out the; Sudoku puzzle is over.
  4. Only one person to a puzzle.
  5. One puzzle at a time.
  6. No shirts, no shoes.
  7. Sudoku puzzles will go on as long as they have to.
  8. If this is your first night at Sudoku, you HAVE to play.
Oh, wait...those rules are for something else...this is how to play Sudoku.
  1. Locate a Sudoku Puzzle. (here are some free online Sudoku puzzles)
  2. Logic is your friend, there is no need to guess or use math
  3. The Sudoku board is divided into 9 boxes of 9
  4. Each box of 9, column and row will contain the numbers 1-9
  5. Use the process of elimination to place your numbers
  6. Start with what you know and work around the board
  7. Think in terms of if and then (if 2 is already used, then 3 is the only option)
  8. Enjoy Sudoku, it is a brilliant game. Simple yet vexing
After becoming familiar with the layout, basic techniques can be employed to start filling in those pesky little blank squares staring back at you.
